The web has given amateurs an easy way to share their discoveries and innovations. Internet distributed precision clocks have enabled the widespread use of Joe Taylor's FT8 digital data mode.  Hams can go to QRZ and obtain accurate QSL information for obtaining paper QSLs. Hams can operate remotely over the Internet.  The ARRL has an online contact verification database called Logbook of the  World or LoTW.  Not only can the prestigious DXCC award be obtained without a single paper card, but it also keeps track of what you have confirmed.  This technology is now being applied to on-the-air events like the ARRL International Grid Chase.
