Upcoming Contests - Things to Do North American QSO Party - SSB The August SSB edition of the North American QSO Party (NAQP) begins at 1800 UTC on Saturday, August 20, and concludes at 0600 UTC on Sunday, August 21. The NAQP's 12-hour format allows participants to do some great contesting, yet still have time for other activities during the weekend. Power output is limited to 100 W, so this is a great contest for beginners with low-power stations to get their feet wet! Complete rules are available at ncjweb.com/naqp. ARRL Rookie Roundup - RTTY If you earned your ham license within the last 3 years, or have never participated in a RTTY contest before, the ARRL Rookie Roundup is the perfect opportunity for you to try out contesting on this digital mode. The event begins at 1800 UTC, Sunday, August 21, and runs for 6 hours, concluding at 2359 UTC. Rookies can contact everyone, and non-Rookies can only contact Rookies. The exchange is your name, call sign, a two-digit year, and state (US or Mexican), Canadian province, or "DX." Full rules are available at www.arrl.org/rtty-roundup. World Wide Digi DX Contest The World W Several State QSO Parties Coming up on August 27 - 29 Fans of state QSO parties can enjoy three different events during the last weekend of August. The Hawaii QSO Party begins at 0359 UTC on Saturday, August 27, and runs through 0400 UTC on Monday, August 29; the Kansas QSO Party starts at 1400 UTC on Saturday, August 27, and concludes at 2000 UTC on Sunday, August 28, and the Ohio QSO Party begins at 1600 UTC on Saturday, August 27, and ends at 0400 UTC on Sunday, August 28. - Thanks to Anthony Luscre, K8ZT Results and Records July 2022 NAQP RTTY Preliminary Results Available Mark Aaker, K6UFO, the North American QSO Party (NAQP) RTTY Contest Manager, announced that the preliminary results for the July 2022 NAQP RTTY are now available on the National Contest Journal website at www.ncjweb.com/current-naqp-rtty-results. Mark adds that there's still time to send him photos or stories for possible inclusion in the full results article. You can reach Mark via email. 2022 YOTA Contest Second Round Results Released Philipp Springer, 9A/DK6SP, the Chair of the International Amateur Radio Union (IARU) Region 1 Youth Working Group, announced that the final results of the second round of the 2022 YOTA Contest have been released on their website at www.ham-yota.com/contest. Technical Topics and Discussion Converting a DB6NT 3456 MHz Transverter to 3400 MHz Terry Price, W8ZN, of Directive Systems & Engineering published an update to his previous article "Converting a DB6NT 3456 MHz transverter to 3400 MHz." The update includes the process to add the Leo Bodnar GPS Disciplined Oscillator or the Down East Microwave/Q5 Signal digiLO High Stability Wideband PLL Synthesizer.
