SOARA is an active full service club that strives to accommodate all facets of Amateur Radio; Our members enjoy a full range of activities. SOARA operates 7 analog and 3 digital (D-Star) repeaters from 4 sites, we have multiple weekly hf, vhf, uhf, and digital nets, monthly general meetings featuring guest speakers on a wide variety of Amateur Radio topics, twice annually equipment auctions, monthly technical sessions, classes and licensing sessions, Transmitter Hunts, and social gatherings. We participate in ARRL Field Day, and Winter Flied Day, and other events.
SOARA members and our infrastructure support several local city ARES /RACES Emcom groups, Orange county Fire Watch, and a number of public service activities in South Orange County, CA
