SARA is the regular sponsor of the Shreveport-Bossier Hamfest (shreveporthamfest.com) scheduled for the second Saturday in August of each year at the Louisiana State Fairgrounds in Shreveport.
SARA provides logistic and emergency communications for the Krewe of Centaur and Krewe of Gemini parades each Mardi Gras season; also for the Heart Of Hope LifeCycle Rally held each June and the Miracle Tour bicycle rally benefiting Children's Miracle Network each October.
SARA operates a Clubhouse at the Greenwood Flea Market grounds in Greenwood, LA. Members enjoy gathering the first Saturday morning of each month at 8:30AM for a "Ham & Coffee" breakfast. Guests are most welcome.
SARA has begun an affiliation with the Northwest Louisiana (NORWELA) Council of the Boy Scouts of America, providing support to Jamboree-on-the-Air (JOTA) and other Radio Scouting activities.
